The Sub Saharan African region is rich in fossil-fuel reserves but has contributed the least to carbon emissions globally. But the impact of climate change is without prejudice and the poor are most vulnerable. A just transition can address environmental, economic and social concerns. This discussion paper attempts to introduce the key arguments that trade unions in the Sub-Saharan Africa Energy Network can use to advance the voice of workers in the just transition discourse.
