The Ghana Trade Fact Sheet highlights international trade for trade union advocacy, particularly their efforts to protect and promote labour rights under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Using data from national and international sources, it provides key demographic, macroeconomic, and labour market, and international trade indicators. Ghana’s trade with other African countries is lower than its trade with the rest of the world. In 2022, the top five export destinations were Switzerland and Liechtenstein, China, USA, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India. Europe and Asia were the main sources of imports into Ghana, accounting for about 77 percent of the country’s total imports in 2022.
