The Chad Trade Fact Sheet provides trade unions with insights for trade advocacy, particularly their campaign to protect and promote labour rights within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). It draws on data from national and international sources to highlight key demographic, macroeconomic, labour market and international trade indicators for Chad. The data reveal that China was Chad’s main trading partner in 2022, receiving about 32 per cent of Chad’s exports to its top five markets. Imports from China amounted to USD 281 million, representing approximately 38 per cent of Chad’s total imports from its top five sources.
